MEET KRIS

Service Before Self

Personal risk and sacrifice for the benefit of others is nothing new for Kris Guido. People trust him because he has spent a lifetime elevating others, taking care of others, serving others.

This is why he was asked by others to run for this office.

Kris Guido's lifelong commitment to public safety and service began when he was just a child. Born and raised in El Paso Texas, Kris became an El Paso Police Explorer in middle school, then a volunteer firefighter for the Horizon City Fire Department, and a medical supervisor for ProAction Medical Services in high school. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist (19D). He deployed to Iraq for the initial invasion with the 3rd ACR in 2003-2004 and again from 2005-2006.

Calm and Strategic Under Fire

Kris has received commendations for valorous awards for providing life-saving medical treatment under extreme direct enemy fire.

Kris was honorably discharged from the Army in 2008 and almost immediately found new ways to serve the greater community. Kris served as Assistant Project Manager for Peterson AFB (now SFB). After that contract was satisfied in 2011, Kris went to work in Emergency Services for Fort Carson’s Paramedics, where he is currently employed. Kris also served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Eastern El Paso County form 2008-2012, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. Most recently, Kris completed the Pikes Peak Regional Law Enforcement Academy (2014) and was sworn in as a Reserve Deputy with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in 2015. He currently serves Fremont County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Detective, specializing in fire investigations.

Boots-on-the-Ground Perspective to Inform Policy

Kris has completed every public service academy offered by Pikes Peak: HAZMAT Academy, Fire Academy, Law Enforcement Academy, and Emergency Medical Services Academy, while simultaneously enrolled in the Fire Science program.

Kris resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Ashley, and their four children.
